Our amazing team are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. With a wealth of experience in delivering arts, music, movement and education across all ages and bringing them together. We have a range of enjoyable activities available for everyone.
Through previous roles in the community and seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, and the opportunity to bring people together. We formed our organization to provide diverse, fun activities that not only educate and stimulate, but give our community the chance to meet and enjoy these expeciences with other people across all generations.
We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change to peoples lives, Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference whilst having fun and connecting people at the same time.
Music & movement play an important role in the development of children from an early age. as well as being fun, they have many benefits including language development, literacy skills, provide a fun way to support early numeracy skills & help children to develop social, physical and emotional skills. (Interesting fact!) If children know 8 nursery rhymes by heart by the time they are 4 year old. they are usually amongst the best readers and spellers in their class by the time they are 8. (Mem Fox, reading magic)
Music & movement therapy in older people is proven to have substantial benefits. Encouraging movement, social interaction and improve memory function. People who are often reluctant or seem unable to communicate become more active, begin to sing and interact. Those that are often withdrawn begin to join in, interact and often singalong. People whose movement usually seems restricted can be seen dancing and moving along to sessions. The results of these sessions can often be astounding, immediate and long lasting, whilst also giving people something to look forward to and enjoy.
Bringing these groups of our community together for 'Inter generational' sessions has proven to be extremely successful and rapidly gaining in popularity. Emma our lead instructor was actually one of the first in the region to drive the initiative to bring young and old together to enjoy these sessions and featured on BBC Radio Derby on more than one occasion to promote the values of these activities.
The benefits of these sessions are a joy to watch. Building relationships between young and old. Changing attitudes towards ageing through shared experiences and bonding across generations. Loneliness and depression are a big concern for todays seniors. By providing a venue for seniors to interact with younger generations they afford the opportunity to build lasting relationships. Energising older adults and giving them a sense of purpose. Reduces the sense of isolation and potentially lessens depression.
Our befriending projects allow isolated and lonely members of our community access to one to one interaction with our services as well as the ability to participate in group events and activities.
Many people find themselves lonely, isolated, depressed and cut off from the rest of the world through various unfortunate circumstances. At Enriching Communities we understand this and aim to combat it through one to one interaction and inclusion with our group activities, giving people more and more opportunities to make positive changes to their mental health and well being.
Sessions cost £12 each or book a 'Chair Dance' & 'Concert' bundle for £20 - Contact Emma on 07896759024 to book your slot for our group zoom sessions!

Thank you for letting us trial your enriching communities programme. We had a great time watching the videos and joining in. The dance along songs were very enjoyable and we had a lot of fun trying out the actions. It allowed us to join in standing or sitting which meant that everyone had a go. We really liked the songs choices and sang along.
The girls dancing were lovely and some of us remembered when they came to dance for us at our home. They are very talented and made us smile.
We tried the quiz and managed to get the musical right and some of the song title but when the song came on at the end we knew it straight away and had another singalong. We are going to try the others as we enjoyed so much. It was great to hear Andy singing again as we have missed him at our home. We cant wait for him to come back.
Kevin said that it was good and that he enjoyed it “that was good” “yes I enjoyed that”.
Andy has performed for us regularly at our events and is loved by the residents, families and staff alike. He has gone out of his way to learn songs that the residents like, that are not in his usual repertoire, such as Jim Reeves and Elvis! Andy ensures that his music is at the right volume, comfortable for his audience and regularly checks that everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. He is lovingly referred to as ‘The Singing Fireman’ as Andy spends time chatting to the residents after his sessions about his ‘day job.’ One resident in particular loves fire engines and his eyes light up when they chat, especially when it was arranged that this resident visits a fire station in our local area. We can’t wait for our next event when Andy can sing for us again.
Thank you from us all at CCT Community Enablement Team / Enablement Care
The Quinnetes came to dance for us at Enablement Care during the holidays, accompanied by their Dad singing. The girls performed Latin and ballroom dances and brought back lots of memories of our residents’ younger days. A fabulous opportunity to reminisce and enjoy a fabulous display of dancing and beautiful costumes. The girls were very polite and engaging with everyone and adapted their dances to work in a smaller space to what they are used to without any hesitation. We would love to welcome them back again soon.
Thank you from us all at CCT Community Enablement Team / Enablement Care
The residents loved their special day for 'Breast cancer awareness' Everybody joined in with the dances and concert perfromed by Andy and the girls, and all of the songs were well known to the residents. Their favourite song to dance to was 'Flash bang wallop' from Half a Sixpence
